THE WORK WE DO

THE WORK WE DO

Building Buzzz transcends Buzzz itself. At its heart, Buzzz is a reflection of the people we are, the values we believe in, the future we want to see, the passions we nurture, the philosophies we hold, and much more beyond what I can currently muster. This is all about the people we are and not just the company we are building.

Walk with Me

Many weeks back, I had a tough time answering a simple poll which asked:

“The work you do” or “The money you make”

Without any doubts, both are important, and often, it just might be illogical to pick one over the other since they might not be mutually exclusive. But in this case, I had to choose, and it was a moment of epiphany because my choice solidified certain beliefs I had held in high esteem.

I’ll leave you to guess my choice, but I’ll leave some cues as we go.

Steve Jobs once said:

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.

Over the past few months, our convictions have been tested. We’ve had to answer hard questions, do hard work, say goodbye to fantastic teammates, and agree on necessary compromises to build a great product. We’ve worked hard not just to dream but to materialize those dreams because not until we do that will history accord us the names we aspire to have in its books.

You see, Buzzz was founded by a group of people who stand for values out of the ordinary.

We believe that every man is a craftsman who is capable of engineering a future everyone wants to be a part of, we believe that we are capable of creating products the world would have no choice but to use, we believe that every ‘delusional’ idea is a possibility which only takes the right people, proper execution and time to be brought to life.

We are not real people and we do not, in any manner, desire to be real.

Of a truth:

  • Our dreams might be petrifying.
  • The policies might be stagnating.
  • The current technological infrastructure might be a limiter.
  • Percentage chances that make provisions for failure exist.

But we have studied history and seen patterns suggesting certain interesting things. We have admired figures seen as geniuses who were secretly rebels, impossible people, and delusional beings. They were tagged as crazy because they dared to dream beyond the existing spectrum of possibilities. These figures have added remarkable value to the forward march of human endeavour.

We must not forget that they were tagged as delusional but with persistence, hard work, and intelligence amongst other virtues, they worked and boy did their delusions add to the quota of the advancements we have had so far.

May the dreamers dream.

We have decided to be the dreamers, the misfits, the delusional ones, the impossible people who will add our valuable slice to the human endeavour.

We have decided to push our cognitive abilities to their limits, convinced that if we chase our goals with determined might long enough, we will achieve them.

We have decided first to be a group of great people, then we can make a great product. We want to live beyond the cliché of materialism, good salaries, and fame.

We believe future possibilities are only possible once people make them happen.

This is who we are at Buzzz.
Buzzz is a reflection of what we are.

Working on Buzzz

Buzzz aims to be the "Merch" gateway for the internet, and by extension, increase the GDP of the creator economy.

“We think anyone with an idea and people to share it with is a creator. And we believe anyone can be one. Buzzz empowers African creators to monetize their influence by enabling them to create and sell their own products to their fans and audience without needing to buy inventory or have any money to start. We take care of sourcing the products, printing your designs on them, handling customer service, and delivering orders. Our aim is to give creators everything they need to make their ideas come to life.”

Months have passed, and we have worked hard to bring the vision to life. At this point, we are proud to have a fully functional MVP, yourbuzzz.com. We decided that this would be a product with a great user experience. Despite technical challenges, we have built an MVP we are proud of.

For certain functionalities, we have had to work with various stakeholders including a 3d artist, we went as far as working with foreign developers who were not, at the time of contact, proficient with the English language, we have also worked with several other fantastic developers, designers and even potential customers just so that we can create a product with a great experience - just to get the job done.

As much as most of us are programmers, our taste for aesthetics and a good experience brings even designers to awe. Buzzz aims to be a product that oozes an aura of freedom, aesthetics, and creativity. We believe this creativity must be achieved internally before we can harvest the creativity in our customers. We aim to build a template for a ‘typisches Produkt’ that everyone should build—a combination of art and technology.

We have had potential investors tell us:
“Sorry, we would have loved to invest in the fantastic idea but the creator economy is not within our range.”

We giggled and said:
“After Buzzz, investors would scout for companies working on the creator economy because we would have proven a point.”

The silver lining gets closer and clearer.

As a creator, individual, community, family, movement, belief, join us to convert memories, moments, and memes into merch.

Presently, we are currently working on our Version 1, packed with amazing features including:

  • Merch-as-tickets
  • Premium tagged products
  • Virtual collectibles
  • Merch GPT

And so much more.

Watch out and see what we have in store.

“..till we see merch on the street and are ninety per cent sure Buzzz facilitated the order—whether it be a tee, a cup, a skateboard, a wristband, a hoodie, a phone pouch, a sock, a cap, a pen, a sticker, or whatever ‘merch’ might mean to you—we will keep working…”

This is the work we do at Buzzz.
